Meet Jennifer - Fine Artist, Designer and Founder of The Painted Stone
Alongside her 20+ year career in professional graphic design, Jennifer Jackson returned to her roots as a fine artist when she began visioning her art on a new canvas: natural stones. Her one-of-a-kind collections of painted stones fuse together her passions for graphic design, fine art and contemporary home styling. Her work is inspired by nature and the different homes across Ontario that she's lovingly styled over the years. The Painted Stone creates distinctly contemporary decor elements that are meant to become timeless heirlooms as homes and families change.
“It all started with a Christmas gift for my sister several years ago. She had recently renovated her home and wanted to bring a coastal feel to her ensuite. I was determined to create something unique for her… the perfect accent decor to compliment her theme… something to scatter along her counter and on top of guest towels – like sea shells along a shoreline. And so, the very first set of painted stones was created; to my surprise, word started spreading quickly. Soon, I was creating new sets of painted stones for dinner parties, special occasions, hostess gifts, and decor for homes, cottages and cabins. Over the last few years, I've found myself coming back to these original five themes, now named: Coast, Wild, Lake, Dusk, and Leaf. These collections are inspired by nature… whether it's the eastern coastline, the mountains out west, or the Muskoka area where my family and I live, I love bringing a clean, contemporary design to classic Canadian living spaces.”
